Flea Control

DID YOU KNOW…

Fleas don’t really have a “season” in Louisiana. Most people are under the impression that your pet is safe from fleas in the winter; however, your pet is capable of getting fleas any time of year. As ferals or urban wildlife travel through your yard, they drop flea eggs on the ground. The eggs develop into adults in as little as one month, and those adults can jump directly onto your pet, or hitch a ride on our legs into the house and onto your sweet indoor pet. The best way to combat fleas is to keep your pet on a reputable flea product year round, without skipping doses.  So many different products exist now that selecting the best one for your dog or cat may be overwhelming.  Just call us and we can help narrow down a safe, effective preventative that is perfect for your pet.  Remember, preventing a flea outbreak is a lot easier and less expensive than treating one.  You may not notice a burgeoning flea population until it is full bloom. If you notice fleas, be sure to treat your pet, your house, and your yard to eliminate all sources of the flea population.
